03 · The Technique
How Artner Injection actually works.
Beyond the 3NO formula, what distinguishes Artner Injection is the injection technique — how the compound is delivered, layered, and dosed across a treatment area for an even, dimple-free result.
The mechanism — selective adipocyte breakdown
Artner Injection works at the level of the fat cell (adipocyte). The compound is delivered into the subcutaneous fat layer, where it disrupts the membrane of targeted fat cells and triggers lipolysis
— the breakdown of stored triglycerides. The released contents are then cleared through the body's natural lymphatic and metabolic elimination pathways. Because the destroyed cells are removed rather than merely shrunk, the reduction is durable; adjacent untreated cells retain normal storage function, so the surrounding contour stays natural.
Injection technique — layer, fan, and grid
An even result depends less on the volume injected and more on how evenly it is distributed. Dr. Pyeon maps the target area and delivers the compound in a controlled pattern rather than a single bolus:
- Depth control
— injections are placed in the mid-subcutaneous fat layer, avoiding the dermis above (which risks surface irregularity) and the fascia below (which risks bruising and discomfort).
- Fan & grid pattern
— the compound is fanned from each entry point and spaced on an even grid, so no single zone receives a concentrated dose that could cause a dent or hollow.
- Micro-aliquot dosing
— small, evenly spaced aliquots produce a smooth gradient of fat reduction rather than abrupt steps between treated and untreated tissue.
- Lidocaine-buffered delivery
— because lidocaine is pre-mixed into the formula, each pass is comfortable, allowing more precise, unhurried placement.
Why technique matters more than total volume
Many fat-dissolving injection protocols are sold by volume, which encourages over-concentration in a single area. Artner Injection prioritizes even coverage and session spacing
over raw cc count — there is no artificial per-session volume cap, but the goal is a smooth line, not maximum aspirate. Sessions are spaced 2–4 weeks apart so each round of cleared fat settles before the next, letting the contour refine progressively rather than all at once.

Injection vs. ART-FAT liposuction — choosing by technique
The right technique depends on fat volume and skin character. Artner Injection is a non-surgical, needle-based approach best for localized, smaller-volume fat and line refinement; ART-FAT liposuction is a single-session surgical approach for larger-volume removal. Many patients use both — ART-FAT for the bulk and Artner Injection for finishing.
